Duck Exit Demo

I've been doing a lot of contract work for the last few years and haven't had much time to work on game development. That was until about a month or so ago when I wasn't being contacted at all and found myself with free time.

I considered making some games I had in my head as ideas into actual games others could play. After a few days of thought I decided to go back to something I'd worked on in the past. A game where the main character isn't controllable. Instead they just walk back and forth without a care and you have to make sure they're not squished, maimed, electrocuted, or anything else while they did so.

I learned how to use a program called Deflemask so I could make my own music and sound effects. I decided to use Redot, because I prefer the mascot and it's all the same anyways, to make the game in. Probably the biggest time sink was when I decided to completely change the art direction when I got close to the end.

I was originally going to release this game on Steam, but Valve is saying my ID is too old for them. Weird, but I guess it's not illegal to have an age preference of less than 10 year old when it comes to peoples' government issued IDs. The process of getting a new one would likely take longer than it did to make this demo (and probably the rest of the game). I'm still considering the best platform for a full release. Right now Itch.io seems to be the best choice for a game like this.

I hope whoever plays this game likes it. The full version is going to have 160 levels, 80 normal ones and 80 challenge levels. Tons of hats and costumes.  I intend to add more game modes as well, but not until the main 2 game modes are completely finished. I plan to release the full game at 15 bucks with sales at 10 and 5 whenever the opportunity arises. Follow for information on a full release. I'm aiming for next month.
